Mello Yello Monday 8-22-2011: Hiccup Hater

Mello Yello Monday 8-22-2011: Hiccup Hater
No advance change notice, no email, no Skype, No Blackberry messenger, no post card, no telegram, no DHL, no FedEx , no UPS, and no Pony Express. A Hiccup Hater is like an automatic weapon in the hands of a mental health patient missing their two big toes walking on hot coals (…OUT OF CONTROL). Hating so fast you can feel the wind chill factor. They don’t even finish hating. They change hate focus in the middle of hating (Incomplete sentence hater). Hating on random people with no regard to how many people are in the cross fire. Hiccup haters are like a five year old child with A.D.D., eating a Pack of 100 1-ounce straws giant Wonka Pixy Stixs. A Hiccup Hater…. Forget the true description. You’ll know the Hiccup hater when you see them. Just know that they require a 3 liter bottle of Mello Yello and a two pickled spam sandwiches with extra glaze… Welcome to Mello Yello Monday.

Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA)

The Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) is a United States copyright law that implements two 1996 treaties of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). It criminalizes production and dissemination of technology, devices, or services intended to circumvent measures (commonly known as Digital Rights Management or DRM) that control access to copyrighted works. It also criminalizes the act of circumventing an access control, whether or not there is actual infringement of copyright itself. In addition, the DMCA heightens the penalties for copyright infringement on the Internet. Passed on October 12, 1998 by a unanimous vote in the U.S. Senate and signed into law by President Bill Clinton on October 28, 1998, the DMCA amended Title 17 of the United States Code to extend the reach of copyright, while limiting the liability of the providers of on-line services for copyright infringement by their users.

A message to Digital Music Pirates:

Uploading or downloading works protected by copyright without the authority of the copyright owner is an infringement of the copyright owner's exclusive rights of reproduction and/or distribution. Anyone found to have infringed a copyrighted work may be liable for statutory damages up to $30,000 for each work infringed and, if willful infringement is proven by the copyright owner, that amount may be increased up to $150,000 for each work infringed. In addition, an infringer of a work may also be liable for the attorney's fees incurred by the copyright owner to enforce his or her rights.
Whether or not a particular work is being made available under the authority of the copyright owner is a question of fact. But since any original work of authorship fixed in a tangible medium (including a computer file) is protected by federal copyright law upon creation, in the absence of clear information to the contrary, most works may be assumed to be protected by federal copyright law.
